Whether you liked Lantern FM or not, whether you liked the music or not, whether you liked the presenters or not – no one can argue the fact that for many years Lantern FM was truly local radio for North Devon.
In March 2009 the name Lantern FM disappeared from the dial to be replaced by a North Devon
version of Heart, subsequently all the local North Devon output was taken away in Aug 2010 – all the office and presentation staff lost their jobs – when the “new enhanced” Heart Devon wide service started
Since June 2010 – I have campaigned to bring back Local Radio to North Devon. You might
not like the Voice, you might not like all the presenters, you might not like all the music, but one thing you will agree on – it will be local. In fact more local that Lantern FM was. We will be a community radio station – with local news, local business news, local networking members, we will train new presenters whatever age, we will be the VOICE for North Devon. OFCOM to announce our result end of January 2012
..on 16th December at Saunton Sands Hotel!
We thought long and hard about having it at various other places, particularly hoping to have it in the Bideford area, but we decided that whilst we are in economic tough times, it wasn’t up to us to ask you to spend your money on an expensive slap up meal.
To that end we are keeping our cost to £20 per person for this event, and this will include the meal at the Saunton Sands as well as drinks on us as usual.
We are awaiting for the chef to issue the menu for this event and as soon as it is available I’ll be posting it up for all to see! In the meantime, numbers will be limited to a maximum of 20 people, so please book now, don’t wait until the last minute.
