I used to be a Lantern/Heart listener on FM when it was broadcast from North Devon, no more, I moved to DAB digital radio when Heart moved out!

You are right though, I listen to a national station whilst in the car & hear only national advertisements, and although I listen to something more commercial at home in the mornings, it is a Cornish based station and none of the advertisements are really aimed at North Devon.

In the long term though, and how long is a piece of string, I think that DAB is the way to go, and whoever sets up a local DAB station will probably get me to switch both at home and in the car - depends on the music a bit - and get a real march on the competition.

It may be another 7 years (?) before the local licenses come up for grabs again, but if someone has a foot in the DAB market I think they will have some foresight & momentum that will count for something!

Give it a go!

A good conundrum, if someone else took twice as long but charged half as much per hour then the customer gets the job done for the same price. The benefit is yours in that you can get twice as much done in the same time as the other person and therefore earn twice as much!

It is you that is using your experience to full advantage, the customer may not actually see the benefit!
